On Farm Visits are have been proved to be lifesavers!

On farm visits are a critical service that needs to be delivered on the ground to support our families on the farm.

Delivered by qualified mental health practitioners in the comfort of the recipients home, this service will not only enable quality time in a safe and familiar environment but will also foster friendships resulting in a positive outcome.

Unfortunately the powers above in the mental health world think that if you require support from a mental health professional you simply hop online or go and see your GP.

For many reasons it is not that simple if you live in the bush!

The Australian Horizons Foundation is on a mission!

Previous projects has been a lifesaver to farmers by simply heading out and doing on farm visits in the comfort of their surrounds.

Having a cuppa with these farmers, their families and their networks is something that those on the land who have experienced this service before look forward to.

These projects are no longer funded by the government leaving families without that familiar face to have a chat to.

This project is to raise funds for ongoing on farm visits by mental health professionals in rural and remote Australia to ensure farmers and their families have the support they need whilst battling pressures of the drought, economic pressure and isolation.

Connect with us on social media by simply searching Australian Horizons Foundation and let's give our mates in remote Australia a hand up not a hand out.

We ask you to take a moment and place yourself into the shoes of a rural family.

In order for us to deliver on our mission to help communities in rural and remote Australia we need to all band together and make it happen.

The foundation operates with a volunteer board located around rural Australia who have firsthand knowledge of what is needed in rural Australia.

We were started by rural Australians for Rural Australians.

We are located in the small town of Georgetown in Far North Queensland.

Please visit www.australianhorizonsfoundation.org for more information.

These projects will ensure our communities are healthy and happy into the future.

Please help us help our mates.

On behalf of all our mates in rural and remote Australia...........

Thank you for your support and understanding as to how tough it is in rural Australia for our mates due to no fault of their own.

We are starting with the far north communities located in the Ethridge and Croydon Shires and a project that recently ceased being funded and yet had results.

Twenty three Aussies have looked forward to a cuppa and a chat with Cris over the past 4 and a half years.

We know that these farm visits have saved lives and kept morale high in this drought.
